Restorative dentistry questions.
How long do dental implants last?
With proper care, implants can last a very long time. The crown on top may need replacing after 15–20 years from normal wear, but the implant itself is designed to be a permanent foundation.
Are implants painful?
Placement is done under local anaesthesia, so you won't feel pain during the procedure. Most patients report mild soreness for a few days afterward, managed with over-the-counter pain relief — many say it's easier than they expected.
How long does a crown last?
On average 10–15 years, and often longer with good care. Grinding, oral hygiene, and the crown's location all affect longevity. We'll let you know if any existing crowns need attention.
Can I get implants if I've had bone loss?
Often, yes. Bone grafting can rebuild the foundation an implant needs. We assess your bone and discuss whether grafting is required — some patients with mild bone loss can proceed without it.
Do dentures look fake?
Modern dentures look remarkably natural. We match tooth shape, size, and colour to your face and preferences, so most people won't notice you're wearing them.
How much do restorative treatments cost?
Costs vary by treatment and complexity. We give you a detailed written estimate before any treatment, check your insurance and CDCP coverage, and offer payment plans — so you know your out-of-pocket cost up front.
